Hi Adriana, I have never have run into this issue before. Probably your browser or operating system Save-As dialog is playing some role here. Anyway, the downloaded file should still be an SRT file, so all you have to do is just rename it, and remove the last “.txt” part from the name. I hope it helps.
A single observation. If I don’t “scroll” the text with the mouse wheel (or page down) the text that is not being seen on the screen is not translated. It would be nice if that operation was not necessary.
I am very happy to have discovered this and very grateful to the developer. Probably he is not able to measure the happiness that discovering this that has given me, and how useful it will be for me from now on. All the cinema and all the documentaries in the world are now within the reach of my language. I have no words to express my appreciation. It is an invaluable tool. Regards.
Thanks for the feedback, and glad that you are finding this tool of help.
Regarding the manual scroll limitation, you can automate this by clicking the “Translate” button at the top right corner (next to the New and Save As button). I hope this helps.
Thanks Asad! A few other users have reported this issue too, but I’m having trouble reproducing this problem. Can you please let me know what browser you are using? Also, is this specific to all or some subtitles file? Any details about the issue will help me isolate and fix the problem.
I know is possible to copy the columns to an excel file to quickly make changes but I do not know how to copy back the data from the excel file. Any suggestions?
I think editing and copying in the Excel for subtitles would be tricky. There are some very good online subtitle editors, and even this translator provides some limited editing capabilities. May be best to use these?
MS from Netherlands: Used it for “Diablo Guardian” for the first time for translating into Dutch language, which was not available yet.
Great!!!! Perfect and fast solution. Thank you very much.
Thanks Sarah for the feedback. Regarding the DeepL translator, I have already explored their APIs, and unfortunately, it’s not free. So I will not be able to keep all this free, as I wish, if integrate that service. But will see if I can manage this without bringing substantial costs to the user in near future.
You should already have the source file on your disk. Or if you are downloading with the same name after translation, try to give a different name to the translated file. Makes sense?
hello im from iran I’m sorry, I translated many subtitles from your site into Persian, but they are not translated correctly, and the words are moved and in some cases translated meaninglessly.
Thanks for the feedback, and sorry for the poor translation quality. Unfortunately, as this is machine translation, so little can be done at the moment to instantly improve this. I’m hopeful that it will get better over time. Or you can also manually edit the translated content after automatic translation to improve quality.
‘Translate button is great idea but frequently gives “Translation failed at line xxx ” message. This doesn’t happen when scrolling down manually. Can this be sorted please.
Thanks for the feedback. I never ran into this translation failed issue. Does it always stuck on the same line for same file? What if you try to click the Translate button again – does it work then? If you can reproduce the issue, I would appreciate if you can send me a copy of the SRT file for further debugging.
Tkx so much for the awesome job. I´m very plesant with your site. Since the subtitle edit not can translate anymore. Tkx God that I´d find U. Sure to visit u again.
Hi, which format you are using? SRT? If yes, then you can probably edit the individual lines to insert the html tags for the color, but it’s not that straightforward and intuitive process. I will see if I can easily incorporate this in the editor.
You are using Google Translator? If yes, try using other options e.g. Bing or Yandex. If the problem persists, try using the newer Chrome or Firefox version. If still run into any issues, please do let me know.
Thanks alot … But can you please add a multi-translate for srt files … because I have many SRT Files in my Course …
I translate every SRT file … that’s take a long time to translate all The course.
Are you using Baidu translator? If yes, this a known problem as I ran into a problem service account. I will try to fix that soon, but in the mean time you can try Google or Bing translators and see if these works for you?
So simple and useful. Many thanks for that!
Hi when I “save as” my file it saves it as a “srt.txt” and on that format I am not able to reopen it.
Is there a way to save it only as “srt” file?
