Hi again Akbar, you did anything? Makes some days i can translate full files without hang-outs and stucks, from beggining to end in auto mode. Thank you very much. The first problem i had was with adblock, but the stucks remain for some days, but seems finally all work good. Sorry about my bad english.
Thank you very much again for your work. I am very happy now, i can translate from almost any language i tried (malayalam, telugu, english…) to spain without any problem and very easily. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Is this with only few SRT files, or always a problem on particular browser. I have seen similar reports in past, but never able to isolate this issue. In one particular instance, this turned out to be due to Anti-Virus software blocking the files upload on user machine. If you have one installed, can you try disabling that temporarily and see if it does fix the problem?
Hmm… weird. What browser and/or operating system you are using? From the description it looks like compatible font is missing on your system, but I doubt if that’s the case with any modern browser or operating system. So would like to learn more what’s going on here.
yes sir i click the translate button &using google translate.am scrolling the screen then am using Chrome browser ! these are my problem of not fully translate srt files sir ? then am trying few srt files translating if all files not fully translate sir last few minutes missing! thenk you for replying me sir
This subtitle translator is very well to translating SRT files then i have one problem with translating it’s some caption’s are missing to translate then my SRT file time is 3hr 16min then it’s translating only 2hr 58minutes then 18 minute caption missing it’s very important one because i need full translating so please solve these problem sir! 🙁
Thanks for the feedback. I assume you are using Google Translate – Correct? If yes, was you manually scrolling through lines or clicked on the “Translate” button? Is it specific to your subtitle file or you are having this problem with all the SRT files you tried? The more details I get, the better I should be able to isolate and fix this problem.
Thanks, but it looks like they don’t have an free API services. So if I go with this or similar translation APIs, will have to make this service paid? Still interested?
It’s a great tool, is there a chance of adding iTranslate as an option for subtitling , I find it better at getting the right the translation in a specific context.. specially when words have multiple meanings. Thank you 🙏
Thanks for the feedback. I have quickly looked at the iTransate. While looks like a great tool, I don’t think they provide webpage translation widget and/or the API which is needed for this subtitle translation to work. So, I don’t see some easy way to integrate it here.
You mean some of the words are not translated or full lines are not translated? If these are the bottom lines, is it possible that you are not scrolling through all the lines to get these translated?
Thanks Mosab for the feedback. This VTT file format doesn’t look that complex (though have its own some niche features), so will if I can support this one soon.
Hi Marcelo, I’m not aware of any such limitation. Do you mean that when you upload an .SRT file, you don’t see the Spanish language in the Translate-To dropdown? Or is some other problem preventing you to translate files now?
I received en SRT-file for translation from English into Dutch. When I press ‘save as’ to download the file on my computer and afterwards I drag the file from my downloads on my computer into the dropbox again to continue working on the translation, both texts are now in Dutch, so the original English text has changed into Dutch also. Can you help me out?
Hi Martin, I see what’s going on here. The current translator/editor doesn’t support the resume feature. So once you re-upload, it’s showing the translated language in both section. I’m assuming all you want to do now just edit translated content to refine the quality. If so, I think this is something I can support in near future, so will try to work on that soon. Apologies for the inconvenience in the mean time.
Hello.
If I try to correct or add a word manually and press replace I get the line in which I made the adjustment twice. If I go back and delete the extra line and press replace again it is either still there or it has even moved one line lower so that now there is a space between the lines.
Thanks for your reply
Martine
I’m having problem reproducing this issue. What language you are doing find/replace? Also, are you replacing full section or just a single word after highlighting it?
This is an awesome site. I’m busy making a website for learners of English and having edited the srt files I want to translate them into the main languages spoken at our school. By the way I am using amara.org for creating the subtitles. Thank you for your hardwork, you are saving me loads of time.
Hello,
Awesome work! It works perfectly for me but I feel like Google Translate have a threshold so if you upload a sbv file for a video of 10 min by example, you will only get 2~3 minutes translated. It’s Google limitation. Could we split the file or something?
Thanks Bob! Google Translate has a limit, but it should be far more than 10 minutes? May be you are running into that visible content limit i.e. Google only translate visible content? So if you scroll through all the lines, or clicked on the Translate button, it should help you full file.
Hello and thank you for your translator. A bug: Translation failed for the row number#2. Is the target language correct? Internet connection problem?
This error appear sometimes in one line, sometimes in other… ever when i press “translate” button. If i edit the line with the error using notepad and putting a blank space between for example a word and a dot or between a word and a ? or with other characters and try again the error dissapear and continue translating, but in every file i have at least three errors or usually more, so for me is easier to do not automatic translate and scroll all the file from beggining to the end.
For me works well in chrome, opera, and firefox, other navigators not tested, but as the advertisement, today in opera or chrome can not select language, but in firefox works good. Hope with time this little bugs can be solved but i thank so much for the time, it is a very easy way to translate. Not perfect? No problem, i am not stupid and i can understand when translation is not perfect, but with the content i can see the films without loose any dialog, so i do not expect perfect translations, but very easy to do. So thank you very much again. Regards. marel.
Hi Marel, thank you for the detailed comment. Regarding your bug description, it looks like an interesting problem. I have not run into this issue before, but most probably, it’s due to some special content/line in subtitles. Would you mind sending me a sample SRT file via email which have this problem? I will see if I can fix this in automatic translation?
Regarding the language selection not appearing, is this something you have recently experienced? And if yes, does it happen for all the subtitle files or only few? I’m just asking question to better isolate this issue for you all.
Thanks again for the positive comments, and appreciate your understanding.
Hi again, i tried to reply to your message, but i cannot. If you want i send some files to you, only give me your mail, i have no problem, but i have more feedbacks related to the issue i explained, because today i did some checks: The issue related to language selector is only in chrome and opera and it is due to adblock-plus, if i disable it, then no problem with this. But i tested it in firefox and the translator is incredibly faster than in chrome, only for your reference.
The issue that give me errors i think is related to language (i use spanish as target and english as origin), even i can see some “it´s” in origin file, when i have the issue i only change “it´s” for “it is” and the translator skip line with no errors, same as “don´t” or “playing!” in this last case i replace with “playing !” (note space between word and ! ) I tested to change it to german, then the errors are in other different lines, so i think are related to dictionary used, i think this is a very difficult issue for you and i do not lost so much time scrolling the file for translate. Maybe the other user Bob has the same issue and this is the reason that only translate 2 or 3 minutes, because translator is stucked on a error line and do not forward. I recommend him to try to scroll the file to the end for check if in manual translation have all file translated. I ever have some issues in every file i translate, so do not worry about this, but as i ask to you for this, and you replied to me, i am giving to you my feedback about this, you can delete my messages if you think this is solved now. I have to say that if i scroll all the file from beggining to end i have no issues, and no errors anywhere, i do it with wheel mouse very fast and translate all the file in a moment.
Just scroll through all the subtitles lines (as Google translator only translate visible content). Or you can also click on the “Translate” button at the top right corner to automate this process.
Sorry for the trouble Caverna, and thanks for trying various options. I had a similar report from another user as well, and it turns out that in that case, it was the Anti Virus playing a role. Now I don’t recommend turning that off permanently (if you have one), but while I investigate this issue further this is something you can try i.e. temporarily disable any anti-virus on your system, and see if that helps?
I am flemish so i am very used to have everything in original soundtrack with subtitling , this is a very neat solution ! congrats
please fix the RTL for Hebrew.
thanks for a great service
Thanks for the feedback. This is something already in my to-do list, so hopefully will be part of the next release.
Regards, Akbar
Thanks you

Hi Marel, yes, I did fix one issue where automatic translation would get stuck in certain situations. I’m glad that you are finding that of help.
Sometimes I do not get to choose the language

Ajay, did you tried the “Translate” button next to the Save-As button? Does it work better or it misses some translations as well?

Hello
You can also create a software for the following site to translate subtitles
This site is not inferior to Google for translation
Thanks

Hello Akbar, Microsoft also has great translator and i think that the API is freely available, please let me know if you can add it.Cheers.
Isn’t this the same as the Bing translator I already support? Or you think the Microsoft Azure API gives slightly better results?

Try using “Descript” to generate SRT files from a video
Great find! You learn something new everyday.
Thanks Akbar Bro,it was helpful but is there anyway to generate srt files automatically from a video besides YouTube ?
Thanks for the feedback. Regarding your question, I don’t know of any other tool except YouTube to generate subtitles directly from the video.

Hi Mr. Akbar: any idea when we can translate from english to Spanish .srt files again ? many thanks in advance, your website is very useful !

Only translates the first 19 lines.
