I think I have isolated what’s going wrong here. I will try to post the fix for this soon, but for now, clearing your browse cache may be the temporary workaround for now. Sorry for the trouble.
My free quota for the Microsoft translator has expired. Now the only option is paid subscription. I will integrate it if I get enough interest from people willing to pay for that.
Can you try doing a force refresh? I deployed some optimizations fixes today. May be some cache is causing problem. Also, please try to run this with latest Chrome or Firefox browsers (if not already doing so).
Just FYI, I think I found one compatibility issue with Firefox and Safari browses. I have just fixed this. If the problem continue, please do let me know.
What browser you are using? Can you try latest Chrome or Firefox browser and see if that helps? I guess the problem is that your browser is not allowing correct selection of the .SRT files.
Sir I translate subtitles here. On the page subtitles translate fully but when I play it in a player half of them translate and the other half remains in the same language Sir please guide how to set tkhem
Did you click on the “Translate” button? If not, doing that should help. Also, I would still recommend manually scrolling through the page to make sure all the subtitle lines are translated. If still having problem, please let me know.
very helpfull, i am using it for my youtube videos , but sir today website auto translated in urdu even disable translate settings, that why on translating in any language urdu words are in every language, how to fix it?
Thanks for the feedback Saleem! I assume you are using Google Translator. If yes, then you can get rid of this automatic translation by closing/cancelling the Google translator tool-bar displayed at the top of the site. I will see if I can auto close this when first loading the website page.
Hi. It works great. Only though. For translate in danish, I have to save the translated srt file as ANSI in order to get them to show danish charsets in a proper way. It would be nice, if save as.. could save them as ANSI
Thanks for the feedback Lars! Yes, choosing the correct encoding which works best for various players is a tricky part. Currently the encoding is UTF-8 which works well for most of the video players. But some video players have different default (as you mentioned). I will see if this be made a configurable option in the near future.
That’s good question. Most of the companies charge roughly $15 to $25 per MB of characeters (Microsoft charge around $14 per MB of translation). A normal subtitle file is around 200-300KB in size, so you are looking approx at a cost of max $5 or so. If I get enough interest from people, I can think of intergrating some payment system here.
What kind of error you get? Not a valid subtitle file? If yes, can you please send me a copy of the SRT file, or paste first few lines here in the comments so that I can see what’s tripping the parser?
Thanks for the interest. One of the main problem is there is no elegant API avaiable for free on the Desktop systems. Like here is the cost for the Google Translate API: https://cloud.google.com/translate/pricing
Other APIs from Microsoft or Amazon cost the same. I’m not sure how many are willing to spend $20 per MB of translation. May be there is market for that, but when there is a free option, we should enjoy as long as it last (whic I’m afraid may not be for that long).
Thanks for the feedback. If you can be please a bit more specific about which part of the translation is not working i.e. upload, translation, download, etc, I can investigate this further.
This most probaly sounds like SRT file encoding problem. While this translator natively support UTF-8, and does automatic conversion for most populare other encodings, it is noet yet perfect. So it could be simply that file is being uploaded in a format not yet correctly supported. Can you please confirm if the file you are uploading is in UTF-8 file encoding? Or if this sounds too cryptic, can you send me copy of the file for further investigation?
Can you please explain which part of the translation process doesn’t work i.e. file upload fails, translation fails or quality is not good, file download fails, etc? The better description I get, the better I will be able to isolate and fix the problem.
hi admin the srt translator is not working. i have tried in google chrome and mozilla too. pls rectify the problem. u r doing a great job of creating translator tool. It helps me a lot. so please repair it and get back with old mode.
Thansk for the feedback. If you can be little more specific on which part of the translator is not working, it would be of help i.e. upload is failing, translation gets stuck, download fails, etc? The more info the get about the issue, the better I will be able to isolate and fix it.
stuck to upload file SRT, please fixed
