Hi, congratulations for on-line translator service.
First sugestion: usualy have two dialogs at one line subtitle.
I note that lost the initial character, “-” or another.
Second sugestion: the character “,” (comma) is lost as like … Yes, I like that …
I think that Google Translator works very well.
I am brazilian and my interest is to translate to brazilian portuguese,
but I choice portuguese, the option near my target language.
Some manual changes are necessary after translation, words in context in dialog
for example. These moments are funny for me, I enjoy this challenge.
Thanks for the site! It gives me more than I could hope.
One thing.
I use it to translate English subs from a French movie.
In French, รฉ and รจ are used. Altough they are correct in the srt-file, once uploaded, they are replaced by Chinese characters.
What can I do about this?
What video player you are using for viewing movies with subtitles? Does it support UTF-8 encoding? If possible, try you use VLC Player and see how it goes. Please let me know if the issue persists.
You translator is not bad. Not so much better than other services I can find in the internet.
Here’s a little idea for improving translations. Try to make it translate not string by string, but first combine the whole srt file from strings to big text, translate it as a big text and then break it back into the subtitle strings. This way the translation will have more sense. Now it just translates phrases separately. And when the sentence is broken into different parts of subtitles then it loses it’s meaning and is translated wrong..
Thanks for the suggestion. I don’t have much control over the Google or Yandex translators as these directly translate the visible content. However, if you are talking about the paid one i.e. DeepL or Microsoft, I’m already joining multiple lines and doing batch translation for these two. But, yeah, I agree there may still be some improvement possible by joining the various lines and splitting them back. This one is slightly tricky to implement, especially if you want to get this correctly for all the various language pairs, but definitely something which can be improved on. Thanks again for your feedback.
It’s good but take toooo much time for translate. Firstly it showing translation 100% done then i downloaded file but it showing just 1 min translated subtitles after that again it showing default english subtitles automatically then I realized that we have to wait till every line(word) to translate. I have waited almost 90min. for a 60min.video to translate ๐. Please fix this issue..otherwise this is best ๐
That’s unusual and not something I have experienced or heared before. What translator you are using? I assume Google? Did you try with something else (like Yandex)? Also, it would be interesting to know if you get this problem with certain files and/or language pair, or is it always that bad for you for all files you tried? If this is specific to a file, it would be good to get a copy of that subtitle file so that I can see what’s going wrong here.
thanks bro no comment
Please make different subtitle color for inprogress subtitle, It’s a bit difficult for me to read both subtitles
That’s a neat suggestion. I will try to include it sometime soon. Any suggestion for the font colour?

Thanks for the feedback Koiti. Are you having these issues with Google translator, or any other one?

Yeah, that’s the limitation for now. DeepL does support Brazilian Portuguese, but then it’s not free.

Beijos direto do Brasil
Rotating logo of cube is distracting. It would be better if you can use a static jpg or png image instead of gif.
