    Nice job.

Is possible that, when saving the subtitles, the file be generated in ANSI codification, rather then UTF-8?

      Daniel,

I don’t plan to do this soon, as I think UTF-8 does what I think ANSI could do. Plus if you want to do this for some reason, there are few online converter available. For example, here is one I think which may do the job for you.

        Hello,

When opening the generated file in Windows Notepad, when saving, by default save as UTF-8, wich, from my experience, gave problems with accentuation. Its no a big deal, because notepad let’s you to save as ANSI.

The downloaded file (SRT) becomes just one long sentence. How to create a proper srt file with the similar to the original file?

      Manojit,

I think this may be due to the line ending character. If if this appears one long sentence in the notepad, it will appear correctly in the movie player. If you want to edit this manually, try the WordPad or NotePad++.

      Dear Amit,

Thank you for sharing the details. I would definitely try my best to help you resolve this issue soon. But the issue is that first I need to be able to duplicate the problem. I just tried the subtitle translator, and it allows me to Save-As the file perfectly fine. Can you share the steps you are doing?

      Tayyab,

Can you please share more detail on what characters are not displayed? Do you have the Urdu font installed on your system?

actually i had same problem, Urdu subtitle wasn’t showing there was box coming although i have Urdu fonts. In VLC media player u have to go Tools>Preferences>Subtitle/OSD and choose default encoding Arabic (windows-1256) choose font Tahoma or Microsoft Sans Serif then save and restart vlc media player now u can see Urdu subtitle

    The translation? Not bad.
SUGGESTION: seriously must be improved the code page (UTF/ANSI/etc. etc). I had to load windows word 2003 version ro see the characters…
Anyway, Many thanks and greeting from Greece

      Nikos,

Thanks for the comments and feedback. I’m using the UTF-8 for exports. I will see if there are any other better solutions for SRT file.

Hi, your site is so cool!
but I think I have a problem translating from Turkish to English cause there are some Turkish character (idk what it’s called) that can’t be translated

      Fizii,

The translation is done by Google, so I don’t have much control over it. But if you can share some of these characters in comments here, I can see if something can be done on my site end to make the translation possible for those.

      Regards, Akbar
