I don’t plan to do this soon, as I think UTF-8 does what I think ANSI could do. Plus if you want to do this for some reason, there are few online converter available. For example, here is one I think which may do the job for you. http://i-tools.org/charset
When opening the generated file in Windows Notepad, when saving, by default save as UTF-8, wich, from my experience, gave problems with accentuation. Its no a big deal, because notepad let’s you to save as ANSI.
I think this may be due to the line ending character. If if this appears one long sentence in the notepad, it will appear correctly in the movie player. If you want to edit this manually, try the WordPad or NotePad++.
I am trying to convert this chinese course on SEM (https://class.coursera.org/sem-001) for data analysis for all the researchers in the world. This course is very important for all the student who want to do PHD. But it is strictlly in chinese language.
If you can help, we can have all its srt in enlish language and can help the reserach community. Your tool is able to translate srt but is not saving them. thus there is always error which is pooping up. I have tried it on every browser and deleting cookies too. but the problem continues
Thank you for sharing the details. I would definitely try my best to help you resolve this issue soon. But the issue is that first I need to be able to duplicate the problem. I just tried the subtitle translator, and it allows me to Save-As the file perfectly fine. Can you share the steps you are doing?
dynamic subtitles translator mais nao consigo a baixa esse programas potente e miuto bom eu vejo comentario das pessas eu gostaria de baixa aqui nesse seti ass.geraldp.
actually i had same problem, Urdu subtitle wasn’t showing there was box coming although i have Urdu fonts. In VLC media player u have to go Tools>Preferences>Subtitle/OSD and choose default encoding Arabic (windows-1256) choose font Tahoma or Microsoft Sans Serif then save and restart vlc media player now u can see Urdu subtitle
Finally a translation site that works and does guiet good tranlations and fast!
Only thing is that since last night i get an error message and today translations wont go past 66 procent into netherlands.
could this problem be fixed or is it something else??
Hi Syed Ghulam Akbar, this is a great site. Absolutely great.
But i have trouble saving the file , i got this notification
“An Error Was Encountered
The URI you submitted has disallowed characters.”
The translation? Not bad.
SUGGESTION: seriously must be improved the code page (UTF/ANSI/etc. etc). I had to load windows word 2003 version ro see the characters…
Anyway, Many thanks and greeting from Greece
it is working nicely, but I am facing one problem from my PC. I was translate srt from English to gujarati. but gujatati font is not working in my VLC player. any other player ????
Hi, your site is so cool!
but I think I have a problem translating from Turkish to English cause there are some Turkish character (idk what it’s called) that can’t be translated
The translation is done by Google, so I don’t have much control over it. But if you can share some of these characters in comments here, I can see if something can be done on my site end to make the translation possible for those.
anyway, I dont mind it.
what troubles me now is that I cant save up the translated sub. Its always said that the connection is error. Its been 2 days btw :/
Nice job.
Is possible that, when saving the subtitles, the file be generated in ANSI codification, rather then UTF-8?

Great!! Thanks
The downloaded file (SRT) becomes just one long sentence. How to create a proper srt file with the similar to the original file?
Manojit,
I think this may be due to the line ending character. If if this appears one long sentence in the notepad, it will appear correctly in the movie player. If you want to edit this manually, try the WordPad or NotePad++.

Ami,
It may be due to some font support or browser page setting. If the translation still works, is that all right?
