Now that’s what I call full description of the problem. Thank you very much for the detail findings. I have now resolved this issue, and it should work fine in the IE 11 as well. If still run into any other issues, please do let me know.
On the first page of the site, in the little window where you must upload the subtitle, I did upload different subtitles, more than once, but everything remains stuck on the first page, with a green verification sign in the right upper corner, but it doesn’t open the second page, where I can see the translation. I really tried a lot, but today it’s the first time I have this problem. Many thanks.
Thanks Teddy for reporting this issue. I have recently been notified of a problem with automatic translation feature (when you click on the “Translate” button). I’m working on the fix, but in the mean time, try to scroll through all the subtitles lines before downloading to avoid the missing translation. Sorry for the inconvenience.
When you say “it’s not working” do you mean the translation doesn’t start, or is it something else i.e. translation quality is not great, file download fails, etc? If you can explain a bit more, I can see what I can do to help here.
What browser you are using? This is mostly a problem on the old browser. Can you please try latest version of the Chrome or Firefox, and do let me know if the problem persists.
Hmmm… that’s of concern. You are using Chrome? Could this be due to some of the extensions you have installed? Have you tried running this site in Incognito mode to see if that works (as it normally disables most of the extensions)? If the problem still persists, could you please send me a screenshot at my email gakbar {at} gmail.com?
It’s not actually the text length limit, but the issue is that they don’t have any free API. Plus the paid service is too expensive i.e. may cost anywhere from $3 to $10 for translation of a single subtitle file. I can enable the API if there is enough interest in the community to get a paid service at this price.
1. You can rename the extension of the downloaded subtitle file from the .SBV to .SUB, and then you should be able to upload and translate the subtitles file normally.
2. You can use some online tool to convert the .SBV file to .SRT. Just search for “online srt convertor”.
3. Youtube classic subtitles editor also allows you to download directly the .SRT files which should work too.
But I guess best option would be that this tool should natively support these .SBV files, so will work on that support.
That’s because Google only translate visible contents. So either scroll through all the lines after selecting target language, or click the “Translate” button to automate this process.
That’s a great app but in French there’s a lot of editing required as it’s a difficult language to translate. And every time I click in a field to edit the translation, there is a pop-up which opens with the original text and it actually covers the field where I’m trying to write so it makes it difficult to type.
Fair enough! That’s a valid point. Even though you can hide that original text pop-up by clicking the field again, but I see that it gets annoying soon. I will try to fix this soon.
You first need the SRT file (video files will not work). You can then upload the SRT and select Persian language. Once the translation is done, place the file next to video player of your choice (VLC Player recommended). This works for one SRT file at a time. Here is quick demo of the basic functionality: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FEawH9h-Q9U
Akbar you did a great job by creating this translation page. it helps me a lot. I generally translate literature from other language to hindi language. it works so fine. I have a suggestion. There should be some login in here, to set custom settings, default settings, I mean, like I always prefer to convert into a particular language. so after log in it can automatically select that language. also there must be an online storage to save the texts that we translate in here.
Thanks Mayank for the feedback. I think option to sign-in and save/restore the subtitles is a great suggestions. I will see how soon I can implement that feature.
Just scroll through all visible subtitles lines before download. Or you can also click on the “Translate” button to auto do this for you. Please let me know if still run into issues.
Thank you so much for this good website.
but there is a problem sadly, the Colors, Bolded and Underlined words are not having their features in the translated file. i mean if a word was in red color in the original file, it is not red in the translated file…
Thanks Wiz for the feedback. This was some longstanding issue in my to-do list. Good News! I got some free time today, and have fixed this now. I hope you find of help.
If you are using Google translator, then either try scrolling through all the lines to get these translated (only visible lines get translated). Or you can automate this step by also clicking on the “Translate” button at the top right. If still run into any issues, please do let me know.

I assume you are using the Baidu translator. If yes, then they have a monthly translation limit. Which may have reached reached its quota limit. Unfortunately, there is nothing I can do at the moment. If there is high demand for this, I may introduce some paid option for this. But for now, your best option is to try other free translator services like Google or Yandex.
Many, many thanks. It works again in IE 11 and I am very pleased. You do a wonderful job with your site. Best regards, Ariadna
It doesn’t work anymore on Internet Explorer 11, but it does work on Google Chrome. I’m sorry, because it was much, much faster on IE 11.

Why doesn’t work your site today? Any problems?
Hi Ariadna,
If you can clarify on what feature or part is not working, and may be explain the issue in slightly more detail, I can see what I can do here.

When i translate, and it’s not finished yet, then I save it, why isn’t everything saved? Some are missing.

Hi, adding the “Deepl” translator has the problem of the text lenght limit?

YouTube is delivering captions.sbv (SBV) format. How to get DST format or translate the .SBV?
Hi Wael,
There are couple of options here:
1. You can rename the extension of the downloaded subtitle file from the .SBV to .SUB, and then you should be able to upload and translate the subtitles file normally.
2. You can use some online tool to convert the .SBV file to .SRT. Just search for “online srt convertor”.

Select target language button doesn’t respond
What browser you are using? Can you try latest Chrome or Firefox browser and see if that helps?

Is there a way to set the default translation language?
Not yet, but it’s an interesting suggestion. I will try to support that soon.
Regards, Akbar
Subtitles saved but only appear 45 lines translated of 906 lines.
That’s because Google only translate visible contents. So either scroll through all the lines after selecting target language, or click the “Translate” button to automate this process.

Hi Sergio,
