1. Sometimes, the translator skips first line of subtitle. I tried reload the page, but it’s same. This is important. Please, check it.
2. New interface is good looking. But, Main page tires the machine, especially when it’s loading.
I think, AdBlock extension for Chrome tries to stop your Drag-drop (Drag-file) property. Old interface wasn’t like that.
Maybe, You can re-write new adblock-protected code.
Thanks for the suggestions. For the #1, this is due to some weird behaviour by Google Translate. As it doesn’t always happen, so is bit tricky to trace and debug. But I will see if this is something which can be easily fixed.
For the #2, I can’t seem to reproduce this problem. What browser you are using? Did you tried to disable the AdBlocker (temporarily, just to confirm if that’s what causing this problem)?
#1 This is a text encoding problem. If srt file encoded as ANSI there is no problem.
But in UTF-8, it always skips first-line. I think Google Translator accepts ANSI as default.
#2 This is not an important problem. I already disable AdBlock (Google Chrome on Windows OS).
But I found the reason’s not your drop-file property but it’s your translation statistic (flash).
AdBlocker tries to stop it.
Two simple problems and I think you can fix them with simple jscript codes, especially for #1
Thank for you the analysis, and sharing feedbacks. For the text encoding problem, few others have reported this too, but the problem is that as far as I know, ANSI encoding is limited in supported character than UTF-8, so may not be ideal for most of the translations. However, I will see if we can easily add some conditional support to convert/update the file to SRT file.
when i click on save as to save in my pc the srt translated file…the translation is not full but is only for first six minutes of the movie..please a want translate all the subs..may you help me?
Can you please wait for few seconds before clicking on the Save-As button? Some time, the Google Translate may take more than few seconds, so please only save the translated subtitles once Google Translate is finished.
would it be possible to have the file name “saved as” the choosen language you use to translate the subs ie if english = file name ENG ir DANSIH file name DAN….
That’s because the srt file is a text file with special formatting (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SubRip). I think you should try paling the downloaded file, and it should work fine. If still have any issues, please let me know.
Am translating srt files from Bosnian to English. Translation is quite different from doing it directly on Google. Going to Google directly gives a much better and complete translation. Any ideas? Thanks.
Otherwise the program works very well – fast and convenient
