Do you get any error or there is no download after you click the Save-As button? What browser you are using? Is it possible to try another browser? Also, I have sometime heard complain from other users that some Anti-virus software block the downloads. I don’t yet know what’s causing this but, can you try disabling these temporarily to see if that solves the problem?
It not only validates the extension of the file, but also the content of the file to make sure it’s valid SRT file format. If you are sure that file format/content is valid, can you please send me a copy of the subtitle file? May be something in the file is tripping the validation part.
I’m translating srt files generally from English to Turkish. Your system is very friendly… There is no limitation. you and subtitlecat, both of you are using google translation…But the translation of subtitlecat is more understandable comparing with your translations…why ? thank you…
Thanks for the feedback. I tried the sbuttitles cat, but can’t seems to make it work. That site keeps redirecting to some promotional website. Once it’s working, I will see if I can find some differences. The only one I can imagaine is that they are using Google API, while I’m using the Google Translation widget. This should not cause much difference, but not sure if Google internally uses the same set of APIs for these two.
It depends on the file format if it supports font-size and/or colours. I think in the .SRT file format, you can do both of these using the HTML font tag. Which you can probably also add using my simple subtitle editor after uploading file, but if you are looking for something more fancy or compatible, there are some better/special subtitles editor online, which I would recommend trying
Thanks Charles. Yes, unfortunately I have to take down the Baidu transaltor because I’m having a problem with their monthly quota and account subscription. I will have to think of some better plan to support this, and I will then enable it again soon.
Hello! nice to meet you .. i am from south korea .. i love this generator subtitle so much! but, can you add a Korean language translator machine by using Naver / Papago as a Korean language translator? the problem for translators from google translate is not accurate … but if you use Naver / papago translation .. Korean subtitles are 100% accurate please help! I really like this website
Thanks Fran. I have quickly looked at the Naver API, and it looks like they have comparatively strict quota limit for the free calls, so may too limiting for general public. But I will see if I can incorporate it sometime soon.
Thanks John. DeepL has been long in the list, but unfortunately it only provides paid API, so will have to bring in some payment model. I will see if I can incorporate it soon for users wishing for premium quality.
So far only single subtitle files can be uploaded, but will try to support that multiple files soon. This may require using some paid APIs, so need more thought and better design.
I get the message: “IMPORTANT: It looks like your browser doesn’t support the Google Translator widget”
My browser is Microsoft Edge 44.18362.449.0
Used to function a few months ago.
Has anything changed?
Thanks Jan, I just checked this in Microsoft Edge, and it seems to work for me. Did you try to upgrade your browser version? BTW, if you are using IE or some other legacy/limited browser then its a known limitation. If possible, try using Chrome or Firefox and see if that helps.
Thank you, brother, you are the best🌹🌹🌹🌹

this is awsome, I needed it badly and found it in a youtube tutorial 🙂
Your site is very useful to me. Have you ever considered including DeepL as a translator, since it is very good at that, it even has an API.
Thanks John. DeepL has been long in the list, but unfortunately it only provides paid API, so will have to bring in some payment model. I will see if I can incorporate it soon for users wishing for premium quality.

It’s amazing. Wonderful, so easy and practical. Thanks a lot!!
very good tool, I am translating a course and unfortunately it has many SRT, it is possible that it can upload 5 files simultaneously
