What type of format you are using? I assume SRT file? Does the downloaded file play nicely in the video player? If continue to have problem, I would appreciate if you can send me a copy of the file for analysis and debugging.

Has it worked before? If yes, I would try clearing your browser cache? If you are new the website, please try using latest version of Firefox or Chrome. Please let me know if the problem continues, and I will see what I can do to help you.

    Dear Akbar,

I use your software, very good, thank you! Could you please help me? Do you know how I can create the art file with teletext and using “define image posterisee”? (It is translation from French “definer image posterisee”) Without creating “teletext”caption and “define image posterisee”, I cannot use your software. It is very confusing… thank you!

Hi Janyl, thanks for the feedback. Unfortunately, I don’t have any experience with Teletext and ART files. I tried searching online for some convertors to and from SRT, but can’t find any. May be someone on this group can read this comment and suggest something to you. Otherwise, I’m sorry! I can’t be of much help here.

Can you please try clearing your browser cache, or try running in the Incognito mode. I’m working on some updates, so some of the resources may be out of date.

What translator you are using? Google Translator? And when you say slow, can you please give me some rough estimate on how much time it’s taking for a SRT file? I just want to compare this with my stats to make sure if the performance is as expected, or something else is wrong here?

You are so good at this program! It’s the best for YouTubers. But… I have a request.

    1. When converting a subtitle file, the last line cannot be converted.
    For example
There are up to 180 subtitles, but only up to 179 are converted.

    2. Currently, only 190 times are translated, but I would like to increase this length.
    a lot

    request.

Thanks for the feedback. Are you using the “Translate” button? If no, I would recommend doing so. I think this tool should support hundreds of lines SRT file without any problem (at least that’s what I have found during my testing). If continue to have problem, I would suggest trying another file to see if this is a file specific issue.

Hi, I am having the same problem that the last sentence is not recognized. I used the Google translate option at the top and pressed “translate” button as recommended.

Thanks for the feedback. I can’t seem to reproduce this in a quick try, but will keep an eye on this. In case this is something you can consistently reproduce, I would appreciate if you can share copy of the SRT file you are having problem with.

I want to translate the Arabic subtitles into Indonesian … but suddenly the Arabic fonts can’t be read .. Does this software not support Arabic letters?

    | Reply

It should support Arabic letters correctly. I think most probably this is becaseu of SRT file encoding which the website is having problem recoginzing. Can you try to convert your SRT file to UTF-8 (you can do this via Notepad++ or many other online tools). Otherwise, you can also send me a copy of the SRT file and I can see what encoding it is, and why it’s not being auto converted correctly during upload.

    HI, very good!
I sugest include option to Brazilian Portuguese, because certain words have meanings in different countries, even using Portuguese.

Thanks for the suggestions. Unfortunately, this Brazilian Portuguese language option is not available in the Google Translation API, so I can’t support it. I see that its part of the Microsoft Translation API, which I plan to open soon. But that will be unfortunately will be a paid option as Microsoft Azure translation is not free.

Sir, your tool is awesome and a great help for me in translating the subtitled english spoken videos i download. I would like to watch Indian movies too but it is a pity subtitles – hindi Urdu … etc – are not readily available. As already a lot of movie-audio is used to generate the subtitles in the native language, the tool for that is yet to expensive for the plain user. Do you have any plans/ideas for a audio-to-srt-generator which is affordable for the end user? I am sure you can do it !! Thanks

Thanks for the feedback Ronny. This audio to SRT option sounds indeed an interesting project. But as you may have guessed, is also very tricky and involves lot of effort and research. I guess at the end, this can be done with some clever third party AI tools. Like Youtube already do something similar for uploaded video files containing English audio. So I can’t deny that I will never support it, but it doesn’t look like it will be in the near future.

Yes i know the tool offered by youtube, but it is not very friendly, you have to upload the movie , accept the size limits of it all, it was not feasible at all. i was aware of what i wanted and walked the distance , i can assure you. I abandoned it altogether. It is possible though because i am watching iptv a lot and i can see the subtitles are generated using the audio and sometimes it is not perfect.

Thanks for the detailed explanation. Yeah, I can see where you are coming from, and what you want to do here. But as I said before, while super interesting for sure, this is not a kind of weekend project, and thus I can’t say for sure how soon I can build on something like that (if at all).

I want your opinion. My business needs good subtitles. Your website subtitles are very useful. However, there are big mistakes in the Google translation. Could you please tell me if Microsoft translation engine is better? I would like to try. I see there is a FREE limit. First, I need to try how it works. I need your help. Congretulations to your website, it is really useful. Please let me know about MICROSOFT translation engine. Thank you for your efforts.

Hi Marta, thanks for the feedback and I’m glad that you are finding most of this useful. Regarding your query on the quality of Microsoft translator, I don’t think there is a simple answer here. I have been exploring Microsoft API to enable some paid preview and translation options, and while it seems to be better for my native language, the results are not earther shattering. And in some cases, even the Google translation is far better. I think it all comes down to what language pair you use, and AI has been trained to handle the sentences being used in subtitles. So, it may perform better for some sentences, but may be worst for others in the single subtitle file.

All that being said, as I mentioned above, I will hopefully open up some paid option for some trying to explore different option and see if these works better for them. Stay tuned.

    Thanks for the great tool!
Sorry if asked before, but would be nice to have a 3rd column,
with a translation -back- to the original language, so we could
manually verify how good each translation really is… 🙂 Thanks.

Thanks for the suggestion. While this is an interesting one, I think it may not be possible currently due to the limitation of the we-based translation widget. You can always re-upload the translated file again, and then translate it back to original language o see how this performs. I know it’s not that fun, but at least it can give you some idea of how it’s behaving.

Thanks Osada. Sorry, I think I misunderstood your comment. I thought you were having problem translating, but reading your comments again, may be the issue is that you want to translate multiple files at one? If yes, then right, then this one is not yet supported. But it’s definitely something in the queue. I will see what I can do about this in near future.

Thanks for making this fantastic page. This tool makes people and countries closer together. It would be a nice feature to be able to substitute a word or letter for all the srt text.

Thanks for the feedback. This feature is already support. To replace single word, just highlight that word and click on the pencil icon. I will probably make it slightly more discoverable soon.
