I tried DeepL to also support you. My file didnt get translated though: order#11N951627H916503C. After getting the green paid line nothing happened. When I donwloaded the srt, it said the right file-name but still was the original file in swedish instead of british. I dont care about the money so much because I used your software very much in the past but is there a bigger problem/bug or should I just try again with deepl?
Sorry for the late reply. I thought I have replied to your comment already, but can’t seem to find it now. Anyway, regarding your issue, I think I have now isolated the problem and fix is already deployed. You are more than welcome to try this again.
BTW, I have also initiated a refund of your amount, so should hopefully have it back soon.
The in-progress translations are not saved on the server. When you click on the Inprogress translation button, it downloads a file which contains the current state. To resume, you simply re-upload that file, and it should contains all your in progress edit changes. I hope it helps.
Hello Admin,
I found some issue that while translate arabic .set to English .srt.It can’t be translate right and alphabet were absolutely can’t readable. But other languages at successful outcome. It seems the problem that Arabic to Eng.I’m just seeing that.So you can be check and fix that to good outcome.
Really appreciate for your program and your hard work.
Thanks for reporting the issue. From your description, it looks like Arabic characters were not readable. If true, can you please make sure the file you are uploading is actually in UTF-8 encoding. As other encodings may not appear correctly all the time. If you don’t have any idea, what I’m talking about, is it possible that you can send me a copy of this subtitle file for further debugging and analysis?
Thanks for the feedback. If you can please clarify which part is not working i.e. upload, translation, download, and also what error you get, it would be of great help to isolate and fix the problem.
Dear Akbar
Happy New Year.
I have been using the program to translate into my language successfully so far. Right now I’m having trouble getting the program to translate srt. text for me. It is very slow and then comes with an error message and stops. Do you have a solution to this?
Thanks for the feedback. Can you please let me know what error you get during translation? Also, I deployed some updates yesterday, so these may be conflicting with some of the existing page cache. Can you please try clearing your browser cache and see if that helps? If problem continue, please do let me know.
Dear Akbar
I’ve cleaned my computer and I still can not use your program to translate for me.
This is the message I received. “Translation failed for dozens of lines, including row # 56. Is the target language correct? Internet connection problem?”
I’m trying to translate from English into my language. So far this has been very successful, but now everything stops.
Thanks Guomundur for keeping me updated, and sorry for the continuous trouble with the site. I can’t seem to isolate this issue, so I’m assuming that this may be related to a specific subtitles file you are trying to translate. From your comments, it looks like you are using Google Translate. Did you try to just scroll through the lines after selecting language and see if that translate content for you (instead of clicking the Translate button)?
Also, if you can send me a copy of subset of the subtitle file you are trying to translate, I will see if I can find what’s causing the problem here.
Hello Akbar
Thank you for the answers.
I did as you mentioned and scrolled down the page but it always stopped after a few lines and could not continue.
I have not solved the problem but I have found a solution that is just as good for me.
I have been using Safari browser but did a trial with Firefox browser and it works very well. There is something that has changed in the settings of the Safari browser that I do not understand.
Thanks again for the answers.
Thanks a lot for keeping me posted, and interesting to find that it was Safari which was causing issue here. I will see if I can isolate and fix this for Safari pretty soon, but otherwise, as you mentioned Firefox or Chrome may do the job.
Thank you for this program and making this possible. I have one small comment… It happened a few times I pressed the backbutton while typing (just wanting to delete a letter) and the whole page went…. back! And of course I lost everything. Anything you could do about this? Thank you!
Hi, I’ve been using your site for months and it’s the best, but today it’s not working. File not valid is all I get all morning, no matter how many times I tried reloading the page and uploading different srt files.
Sorry for the trouble Slavica. I changed some SRT file parsing rules for some other legacy/compatability issues, may be these are cauing the problem here. I will try looking into this. In the mean time, is it possible that you send me a copy of one of these SRT files for further analysis?
Sorry for the trouble Joseph! I have seen this report from few users in past. In most of the cases, simply reloading the page fix the problem. Can you please try that and see if that works? I will keep investigating this issue in the mean time.
Thanks Amin for the feedback. It does some very basic validation on the content of the SRT file too to make sure all is good before it start processing these. If you are sure that these are valid subtitles files, there is possibility that some content in these is causing the validator to trip over. Is it possible to send me a copy of any of these subtitles file for further analysis?
thanks dear akbar. how can i send the file? i dont have your email. i am sure this file is .srt format and there is no problam but alert said “it is not valid”. thank you sir
Hi Dear Akbar
Thank you for this excellent and valuable project
Everything is great, Ali interface, small and convenient rows. Overall everything is great
I have a business offer for you
Advertise your site on related websites that are in the field of movie translation. This will increase the traffic to your website and as a result you will have more ads
Hi Alle, Sorry! I don’t have any experience with using Amazon prime movies, and my hunch is that as these are online streams, it may not be possible to translate subtitles easily. Lets see if any other users on this site has some suggestions for you.
Dear Akbar, tanks for making this website ( i use subtitle translator ) this site is very good & use full
for make that better i have two porposal – if u can do that You owe me
1. if program making batch translate this is will be time saving for learning course
2.When translating by Google Translate, due to the separation of the sentence in the two parts of Google, it is not possible to translate correctly. Is it possible to merge the sentences together?
and in the end Thank you for your efforts
Footnote
In which programming language did you create the code of this site?
Thankful
Thanks Hamid for the feedback. Batch translation is definitely something which in my to-do list. But I can’t give you time-frame for this. You idea to merge and split the subtitles before and after translation is interesting one. I will definitely think about supporting it soon.
Since all these are machine translation, so can’t be perfect. You can try the available ones, and see which one works best for you. I’m also planning to support DeepL soon, which seems to perform much better for European languages. But it’s still not perfect.
Dear Kahlid, thanks for the feedback. On a quick search, I found couple of software like MKV extractor, Movavi, Subtitle edit, etc. I don’t have any personal experience working with any of these. So it’s more like hit and trial and see what works best for you.
THANKS!
Awesomeness 👌
awesome…..thanks you so much.
Thanks so much
Best sub-trans site. Make android App for translation.
Thanks for the feedback. I will think about building some Android/iOS app for this

Thanks and regards.

I think I have deployed a fix for this. Can you please try when convenient and see if it does the job?
Regards, Akbar
Is it possible to hide the contents of the file to make this site better to display in mobile?
That’s a very neat suggestion. I will definitely think about this one.

I have deployed a fix related to this. Please try when convenient, and let me know how it goes.

Dear Admin,
Do you use Google Translate or Microsoft Azure translation for your translations?
Thanks.
It provides option for both translators, and it’s up to the user to choose the translator they want to use.
