I also got the message error 6. Not anymore, but the program still doesn’t work. You report that the problem has been solved, but that is incorrect. It’s a shame because it’s a very nice translation program. Can you look at the problem again.
Thanks, Wim! Can you please tell me in a bit more detail that what part of the translation process (upload, translation, download, etc) is still not working for you? Also, if you get any particular errors, it would be great if you could share these with me for further debugging and isolation.
On my end the translation works again. Have you tried to clear cookies, update your browser, restart your PC and other basics.
I use Chrome (latest version), and I can drop srt files and translate them fine.
HI admin,
I want to report an issue. cant upload file. an error like this > https://prnt.sc/ZQlrK_JWcBca
6 hours early translated subtitle doesn’t work. downloaded (save-as-file.txt) like this > https://prnt.sc/F75eokEIY9U_
I tried different browsers and got same result. please fix these problems.
thanks.
Thanks Akbar for the great job and help with your website.
Very usefull to me.
I used it from many years, and it’s perfect now.
Thanks from France
Merci mon Ami ;0
Many thanks for your great job. I have to ask you why, today, I can’t upload any file? It appears Error 6, and I have to remove the file. I tried with many verified files, but the answer is the same. I translated yesterday some .srt files and it worked fine. But not today. What happens?
Regards, Ariadna
Thanks for reporting this back to me. Looks like something has gone wrong with the service provider for my website. I’m looking into this and will update you once it’s back to normal.
Hi!
I want to report an issue. Upload 5 subtitles, translate them and save “save all”. With the archive.
Then upload another 5 files and translate and save them. And bingo! An archive with the same FIRST 5 files is downloaded!
Moreover, if you upload more others, then instead of them also downloaded the archive with those first files.
Thanks for the feedback. I can’t seem to reproduce this issue, but I think I have an idea of what may be going wrong. When you download a batch of subtitles, it’s downloaded with the same file name. So maybe your future downs are not being overwritten somehow, or you are probably looking at the wrong files in the download folder? Can you try please to rename/move the existing .zip file in the downloaded folder before uploading a new batch and see how it goes?
Thanks Sasha! Even though I can’t reproduce this issue, I have deployed a possible fix that may avoid this problem. Can you please try this again when convenient and see how it goes?
Thank you for caring! Unfortunately, it didn’t help, the same archive was downloaded. And I downloaded in the evening, and the date of the files are in the morning.
And as you can see, the files do not even look like the ones I translated today. Downloaded 1-2-3-4-5, but I translated 11-14.
Okay, maybe it’s the browser then! I just translated and downloaded in Opera and all works well and this bug does not appear. Then just know that in Firefox this is possible for people π
Okay, great! I was going to to ask you to try to switch the browser. I will see if I can isolate this issue using Firefox and if so will work on the fix.
Thanks! I just tried this and it seems to be working for me. Can you please try this again? If the problem persist, can you please tell me if you can see any error (on screen or in the browser console log)?
Hi, huge thanks for the web site. It is helping me so much. Actually appreciate your kindness and generosity.
There is a little problem. When I started to convert and open another tab the conversion is having kind of pause. The window should kept open all the time for fast conversion. Please kindly fix it. So we can let convert and do our other works. Thanks again.
Regarding the pause issue, there are two issues. One is that when a tab is not active, its timer/interval thread seems to get very low priority from the browser and thus appears to pause in most of cases. I think there is a workaround to use another kind of background thread to overcome this limitation. I will see what can be done here. There is another tricky problem here, and that’s the Google Translation widget limits the translation of only the content that is currently visible on the page. This may be something far tricky to work around (or even not legal) as they want to avoid abuse of this tool for batch processing tasks. I will see what can be done here without breaking any of the fair user policies here.
Thanks a lot for your tool!
I have a question, when I insert a 10min SRT file and run your tool, I will end up with a 5min STR file, why can’t it translate 10min files entirely?
This should not be a problem for a 10 minute SRT file. If you are using Google translator, please make sure that you use “Translate” button to translate all content after selecting the target language. I hope this helps.
Hey! This site is awesome! Thank you so much for creating it! Just have one question: is it possible to save translated subs in other format? I dropped .vtt sub, but I want to save it as .srt. Is it possible to do it and if not, can you make it possible? Thanks!
Thanks for the feedback Dax! Unfortunately, it’s not currently possible to convert between subtitle file formats. The good news is that many online conversion tools are available that let you convert between nearly all popular subtitles formats. Just Google for something like “online subtitle converter”.
Cheetay, yaar main ek kaam pakarr betha hun Eng to Urdu subtitles translation in .srt file. Ab please mujhe thorra sa guide kr do k yeh kaam aap k es platform per ho jaye ga free mein?
Yes, I think at least it can give you some headstart if you use the free Google translator to translate From English to Urdu. You may still need to do many manual adjustments to make it look professional, but as I said it may give you something to start with.
Hello Akbar, I would like to thank you sincerely for this web app. It works very well for me. I fix up the subtitles by hand afterward, since I actually speak the source language — but it makes the job a lot easier when all those dozens of little filler lines like “Yeah” or “Thank you” (or etc.) are translated for me by the computer. Of course Google isn’t perfect, but it is rare that I have to totally rewrite a line; I can usually get away with minor changes. When I am lucky, it only takes me 20 or 30 minutes to produce a pretty good set of subs using the Google translate as a base. (Of course when I feel nitpicky I can still spend hours on it… but at least the hours are spend in the fun intellectual side of translating, and not sitting there translating filler over and over again. π
Thanks for the feedback. Yeah, these machine translations are not yet perfect, but I’m really amazed at what these are now compared to few years back when I initially created this tool π
The page “Why Sign-in” after the “Sign-in with Google”-button does not exists. Why should we sign in?
Thanks for pointing that out. It’s now fixed and hopefully you should now have more details on why to sign-in π
