Hi, thanks for the suggestion. This is already on my to-do list but it is not relatively easy to work with given the current working of the Google Translation by Web Widget. I’m exploring some ideas on how to best support that and will update you here if there is any progress.
Does the translator doesn’t work at all, is slow or something else? If you are doing extensive translation, Google may temporarily disallow (or limit) your IP for these web translations. Sorry, I don’t have any easy workaround here.
Sorry for the trouble guys and thanks for reporting it back. It looks like some disk services went transiently down on the hosting server. This issue is now hopefully fixed. Please let me know if you still run into any issues.
Hi. The Save As button doesn’t work. The file briefly appears on the bottom of my screen, but doesn’t go to my downloads folder. I’ve already poured a few hours into translating a don’t want to lose my progress.
Hi Matt, sorry for the trouble there. From your description, it looks like the browser is initiating the download but is aborting it later for some reason. Maybe some extension is doing it. Probably worth looking at your browser download folder location. If you are using any download manager, try to check its logs too.
Hi, I translated several files in .vtt format and I realized that all of them, there were several, all of them were not included the last line, that is, if the original file has 100 lines in the translation it has 99. I noticed when I did the individual comparison. If you can fix it, thanks.
Hi Marcio, thanks for the feedback and sorry for the trouble. I can’t reproduce this issue where the last line is not included in the file in my quick test. I think it’s probably related to the content (or some other formatting) of the VTT files you translate. Can you send me a copy of these files for debugging and isolation of this particular issue?
I leave as a suggestion the option to choose where to save the files, in which folder, and which text you want to include in the file that will be generated instead of the acronym of the language. If it is possible to export files individually instead of zipped.
Thanks for the suggestion Marcio. Regarding the language abbreviation in the file names, you can turn that off by clicking on the “Save Setting” link at the top-right corner (under the Save-As button). If you just want to download a single via instead of ZIP, in case of multiple file uploads, you can do that by clicking the “Save As” button and not the “Save All” button. Finally, I think the choice of the download folder depends on the Browser you are using. If you use Chrome/Firefox on a Desktop, you can select where to download the files in the browser setting or prompt it for the folder selection.
I hope this helps. Please do let me know if you have any other suggestions or questions.
I assume you are using Google Translator. If yes, then even though I don’t have any limit on my end for translation, Google Translation Widget may stop translation after few files to avoid misuse of their service. In that case, you can wait a few minutes and try again.
Thanks for the feedback. I already explored using the ChatGPT APIs for translation, but I think it’s still a few months (years?) away from being as competent as other existing translators in this domain. I will keep an eye on the development and progress of how ChatGPT evolves regarding translation capabilities. In case any of you get some interested translation results using ChatGPT or any other API, please let me know as well.
SINCE THE UPDATE, THE SCROLL BAR WAS GOING UP THE LINES UNTIL IT GIVES THE AUTOMATIC ANSWER THAT THE TRANSLATION IS FINISHED AND JUST DOWNLOAD IT, NOW IT DOES NOT START, I THINK THERE IS A BUG IN THE SYSTEM, IT IS NO LONGER WORKING, SOMETHING HAS CHANGED THAT THE REQUESTED TRANSLATION DOES NOT START IN ANY WAY.
Thanks for the feedback Paulo. Was this issue related to multiple files translation? If yes, I think I have now isolated and fixed the problem. Can you please try again (ideally after clearing your browser cache) and see how it goes. If still run into any issues, please let me know.
Now saving multiple subtitle files will only pack one of the subtitle files, and the other subtitle files will not be put into the compressed package and downloaded.
Thanks! Just tried it and can’t reproduce the problem. Can you please try this again in Incognito mode or by clearing your browser cache? If the problem persists, please let me know the browser you are using for translation.
I tried again in the traceless mode and cleared the browser cache. I still couldn’t pack multiple subtitle files and download it. The two browsers I use are the same problem, and the use of 2023/2/18 is normal.
Microsoft Edge 110.0.1587.49
Google Chrome 110.0.5481.104
Thanks for trying these out and sorry for the trouble. I think I have now isolated and fixed this problem. Can you please try again after clearing your browser cache and see how it goes?
Hi
great tool thanks a lot for it.
im translating to Hebrew which is RTL language, all of the Commas, periods, exclamation points are backwards
is it fixable ?
Hmm… Did you try changing the displayed text’s alignment by clicking the alignment toolbar icons (at the top right corner of the “Translated Text” column)? If not, I suggest trying these out and seeing if that helps.
Well, everything is possible, but this is not a quick fix. And, unfortunately, I don’t currently have time to research and develop something like this at the moment. Maybe someone from the community here is willing to help and build on your idea.
I am not talking about roman language. I am talking about transliteration. FIRST I want to translate english subtitle into urdu because hindi translation is very bad then i want to convert those urdu words into hindi or english rather than doing hindi translation. for example میرا نام عمران ہے to mera nam imran hai or मेरा नाम इमरान है convert urdu words to hindi or english fonts without translate. thats called transliteration. please add that facility. thankyou
Thanks, Imran for the clarification and makes sense. It’s an interesting requirement, and I did develop a Chrome extension to help with transliteration in past. However, the API I was using got deprecated, so I have to give up that idea too. I will see if there are any other free APIs available, but it’s a big project, and I’m not sure I will be able to complete that soon.
This is the second time I’ve thanked you for the tool you’ve created, I just felt that saying thank you once wasn’t enough. You have no idea of the number of documentaries that were not accessible to me that I have been able to see thanks to this, you will never fully measure the good that you have done to me and to so many other people. I am deeply grateful, I just wanted to say it again. I send you a hug.
can i request paragraph mode for GoogleTranslator?
Hi, thanks for the suggestion. This is already on my to-do list but it is not relatively easy to work with given the current working of the Google Translation by Web Widget. I’m exploring some ideas on how to best support that and will update you here if there is any progress.

p.s.
– hello, good morning / afternoon / evening / nite
– i’m talking about the translator only
Hi,
Does the translator doesn’t work at all, is slow or something else? If you are doing extensive translation, Google may temporarily disallow (or limit) your IP for these web translations. Sorry, I don’t have any easy workaround here.
Regarding the Sign-in, I added these mostly for the Balance Translation feature and is totally optional. More about this here:
https://blog.syedgakbar.com/why-sign-in-and-topup-balance/
This should not cause any problem with the translation process at all, but happy to hear about your experience.
Regards, Akbar
it’s worst than ever, google used to work fine a time ago but now doesn’t do it well, sign in? why?
meanwhile yandex does the work really fast but the translates are not so well
please fix it, it used to be a good translator
thanks in advance

I hope that one day we can use chatGPT public apis to translate as well. Its just so much more accurate.
Awesome work.

Well, everything is possible, but this is not a quick fix. And, unfortunately, I don’t currently have time to research and develop something like this at the moment. Maybe someone from the community here is willing to help and build on your idea.

Hi admin, can you add dark mode or something like that while in edit subtitle mode? It will make the eyes more comfortable when editing the sub.
That’s a neat suggestion. I will add this to my soon-to-do list.
Regards, Akbar
Just an update. This dark-mode feature went live today with couple of other tweaks and optimisations. I hope you find it of help.
Regards, Akbar
please add roman translation
Google translator already supports Romanian translation. Are you looking for this in any other translator?
Regards, Akbar
