  2. Hello again my second translation attempt 6800098464131362N was successfull … i disabled the ADBLOCKER in chrome, it would have been helpful to know this from the start.

    Hello dear,
very good tool, congrats for that

i tried to translate with DeepL and also payed the 3+ USD for the translation, but after 100% the loading never stopped, now i am afraid to reload the tab and i loose the translation,
also the translation never showed up, but in the requests i see the getTranslateProgress ajax calls with result:1, state:”ready”,

also in the console i see some errors
dst/translate:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 524 ()
dst/getTranslatedRows/8AM416930S270371Y——-:1 Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 524 ()

from the last request i saved the json result, which is the translation but in this form is useless (i will javascript something out of it)

please in the future try to make sure that its not feeling like a scam (payed and got nothing)

Hi Gabor, first of all sorry for the trouble and thanks a lot for not only reporting this to me, but with such a help debugging info. I have got similar report few times before, but never able to reproduce this. However, I think based on what you shared from the debug logs, I can see what’s going on here, so will hopefully try to fix this pretty soon.

When the translation finishes on the server, it also sends an email. I hope you got email with all your requested translations. If any of the attempts were unsuccesful, please just let me know your order-id or any other info to identify the translation (file name, language pair, etc), and I will do a full refund of all these failed tries. My apologies again, and thanks a lot!

      Regards, Akbar

Never mind! I was able to locate your failed attempt and have issued a full refund of that. Apologies for the trouble.

Fantastic tool. I see the translation-time of an srt growing as i submit more files.

I wonder if you are calling the translation-api after each line or if you are collecting lines and send them in bulk to the api.
You could easily collect the complete
    No. From To Original Text
    and use a record separator.

After the return of the bulk process the translated records.

Maybe you are doing this already , anyway this is a marvelous piece of work .

Thanks for the feedback Ronny and I’m glad you are finding this mostly of help.

Regarding your question on how the translation is handled, it depends on which translator you use. If you are using Google or Yandex, then as these translator directly translate web content, so these auto batch the subtitles line/content. If you use the DeepL or Microsoft translators, then these are called via API, and I already do translation in the bulk instead of doing it line by line.

However, I will not be surprised if these gets slower as you translate more (especially Google one). Most of these use some backend checks to avoid translation or API misuse, so their attack detection filter may kick in when we are sending large text. However, I haven’t noticed any significant issues myself so far even with behavior. But if you think something is getting really slow, please let me know and I will double check at that time what’s causing the slowness at that particular time.

Wasalam, I have never run into the similar issue before. May be try upgrading the VLC player and see if that helps? Also, if you open the translated subtitle file, say in the notepad editor, can you see the correct characters? If still can’t figure this out, may be send me a copy of the subtitle file and I will see if it contains the correct encoding.

    please increase file size limit.

I thought current 1MB limit would be enough for most (if not all) subtitle files. What is the size of subtitle file you are trying to upload?

    Hello Akbar…
I use your (grrreat!) Service scince it appeared on the WEB, early on! Cause… lots of my friends are`nt able to understand/translate english (they simply was…to lazy in school i guess)…and ME likes to HEAR the original Voices in Movies. Cause:its a BIG difference. The ACTORS speak with all emotions and expressions while acting. The german Synchronising-Speakers MIGHT do their best, but… can never EVER transport all those expressions THAT good as in the original.
Anyway; If i got a Movie very early… there are`NT any german subs. And HERE…YOU come into the game! Your Script is simply AWEFUL!
    THANK YOU SO MUCH!

    Hi!
How can I translate several parts of subtitles at once? 1.part.srt 2.part.srt and so on?

There is still no batch processing support, so you will have to translate these subtitles files individually.

Unfortunately, the translation process failed with the following error:

As a registered user of PROMT it is possible to use their free online translator service under https://www.online-translator.com/.
Without registration they only allow 999 words. Is it possible to add that service here for free too if they offer some translation API ?

Thanks, they do seem to provide API, but it doesn’t seem free. There is another website translator widget option, which may do the trick here. I will try to investigate more on this one.

I just generated english subtitle file in SRT format, file size is 84kb, was created using Davinci Resolve, your side is saying file is invalid, please advise what I am doing wrong?

Hi Cam, all this sounds very logical. The only thing I can think of is that probably the file created by Davinci Resolve use some extension/format of the SRT which I don’t support (I’m using very simple file parser). Is it possible to share first few lines here, or email me the SRT file for further analysis?

      Regards, Akbar
