You can’t save drafts on my website, but you can download draft by clicking the “In-progress” button at the top-right corner. It should download a file which is special format to let you resume editing. All you need to do is re-upload that saved file to continue editing from where you left last time. I hope this help.
Sorry for the trouble. It’s a known issue with LLM models like GPT or Gemini. They sometime ignore the structure prompt and mix-up the lines. Though I have some workarounds in place to detect and auto fix these, it’s not 100% safe due to the context complexity. The only suggestion I have is to manually fix such instances. You can either shift the lines or re-translate a block of lines (free of charge) to fix these lines. More details can be found here: https://blog.syedgakbar.com/subtitles-translator-help-tips/#shift-rows
Hello Akbar, about the Thai error, i translated again and yes, it translates to another language when Thai is selected on Google Translate option.
But the thing is, you know when we use the Google Translate option, a Translate bar appears on the top of the browser page. When i open the language selection menu on that bar(not on the website), there are 2 Thai language selections interestingly. There is a bug going on. There are 2 options and both are named Thai. Normally your tool uses the first one. When i select the second Thai option on the top bar, it translates to correct language.
Interesting! Thanks for sharing these details. That bar is directly from the Google Widget, so most probably they have some kind of bug there. But what I find a bit odd is that I don’t see the double Thai language options in that Translate bar – I see only a single option. Would it be possible for you to send me a screenshot via email? I’m wondering if it is related to either Browser and/or Region. Any possibility to change one of these and see how it behaves?
That’s odd. I gave this a quick try and seems to be working for me i.e. it did translate to Thai language. Can you please check in any other browser or in Incognito mode – just to isolate any other extensions running in background? Also, can you please double check that Yandex translation is not enabled?
Sorry for the delay there. Crypto payments sometime take few minutes to an hour to settle. I see that balance was finally credited into your account. Please let me know if continue to have any issues.
You should add a section for a glossary for how you want specific words to be translated. I would use this more if there was that, as well as an option to put in context.
Thanks for the feedback Joseph. Is this regarding Gemini or OpenAI translator? If yes, then this is already somewhat support for this. Basically, you can click on the Gear icon in the translator options and then click on the pencil icon in the Prompt Extension. This should let you specify synopsis or context, as well as, any additional instructions for the LLM models to fine tune translation. I hope this helps.
please never delete this page!!!! I use it regularly to translate English into German. I use the SRT files as subtitles in films or series because my wife is deaf. In Germany, subtitles are a big problem for deaf people. We can’t even go to the cinema because there are no cinemas where films are shown. In a normal cinema, non-disabled people would freak out if they constantly had subtitles in the film. very very important this side for me. im greatful. can i donate few euro for this work?
In Subtitle translator page, The drop down list for yandex translation starts with language Polish onward. I guess this is a bug!
I need to get to Arabic
The + add language button is non functional
Thanks for the feedback. I can’t seem to reproduce this in quick try, but my hunch is that this might be browser related? Are you trying to access this from a Mobile or small screen device? Is it possible to try with latest Chrome or Fixfox browser. If the problem persists, please let me know.
Sorry for the disappointment, but the Chat-GPT API is not free and is expensive enough that I can’t offer it for free in this hobby project. Hopefully, OpenAI will make the older models free or cheap enough to support this free translation one day, but at the moment, I guess Google or Yandex are your only free options.
Doesn’t work for me. I tried to translate using ChatGPT 3.5 subtitles from English to Polish, paid for it but for unknown reason franslated file is also in english.
Sorry for the trouble. I think we were isolate this to a failure in the payment from the PayPal by Debit/Credit card. If you continue to have trouble, please let me know
Thank you for this amazingly good website. But why does it often appear that the translation text fails on more than 50% of the lines. Please, I want to know what it means.
Thanks for the feedback and sorry for the trouble. Are you using Google Translator? If yes, then it mostly fails because Google Server sometime try to put limit on IP (or range of IPs) to avoid stress on their servers. If it always fails particular for a single file, then it might due to a bug here. I would appreciate a sample file so that I can reproduce and fix that properly.
I used Yandex, after I checked there was nothing wrong, everything was translated, only the music sentence (tone logo) was not translated. But that’s okay. Thank You
Thanks for getting back to me. Yeah, Yandex also does put limits on the IP/client. But I’m surprised that after the error everything appeared to be translated fine. I will have a look and see if I can reproduce this behaviour.
I’ve been using this site for a while now, for srt translations, but I’ve never commented here to say thanks, and I think I should do so. I think this website should be a world heritage site! seriously. It is simple, efficient, with almost no bugs found or not impactful. Because of him, I was able to break the language barrier by showing content that was previously inaccessible in another country and/or little explored. I hope the developer knows how uplifting this is for people, and that through a contributive act he was able to help many people. My sincere thanks and utmost gratitude!
Sorry for the trouble there. Just to clarify the problem, the issue is that if you try to save the subtitle file by clicking Save As button after doing translation, it just get stuck? Can you please check if you have any download manage or other extension which might be blocking this download? As normally it should not take more than a minute to download the file after translation.
If you can give a bit more details about your translation flow, I can dig further into this one.
Thanks for the feedback. So you are using the “Save All” button (next to “Save As”) doesn’t download all the files? I just gave this a quick try and it downloaded all the files as Zip file – which you can later extract on your system after download.
Unfortunately, this is more complex issue than it sounds. In short, this happens because sometime AI models (Gemini, ChatGPT, etc) remove the row markers I insert between the lines, thus the two lines become single. I have some workaround in place to avoid this, but due to the randomness in the AI models, it’s hard to get it perfect every time. My hope is that with improvements in the AI models, this issue will fix itself. Like this issue happens rarely with GPT 4o and Gemini 1.5 Pro. But for now the only workaround is to review and manually fix such instance.
Hi Akbar, your service is very useful. However, I have a recommendation to make with regard to Google translations. Your engine is missing an input language for Google translations, and it therefore automatically looks for the language of the input text. Where this causes problems for me is for example: I’m translating a text from English to German. There are also a few Turkish words in the English text, which are names and places. These words are now translated into German as well, because of the lack of an input language.
When you translate a document using Google Translate’s own site, this error does not occur, because the input language is specified.
I would be so happy if you would also include the input language as a field when using Google Translate. Thank you!
Thanks Christian for the input. Unfortunately, the way Google Translation is integrated using Web Widget, it’s not that simple to let user provide the language (it’s currently picked from the content). I will see if there is any other workaround to support it.
Wow. Thank you bro
Hi Akbar Gemini Tamil language miss pls add
Sure, I have now added the Tamil language in Gemini model as well. Please refresh or clear your browser cache to get the latest update.

Hi, Akbar, how can I translate my SRT with the ChatGPT option without paying? It asks me to make a payment, if I had money I wouldn’t use these tools!

1.I am going
2.to go home
how merge to one line ? for example:

You have to manually do this by editing the subtitle. You can read more about the Editor capabilities and options here:

Hi Akbar OpenAl GPT Tamil language is missing or not available
Thanks for pointing this out. I have now enabled support for the Tamil translation in OpenAI Chat-GPT translator.

This tool is amazing and very good. I’m wondering is there a KODI addon for this? Or do you have any plans of making one?
Thanks for your feedback. There is no short term plan to support this on Kodi, but I will add this to my future to-do list.

It’s not possible to reload credit in cents, right?
Yes, unfortunately, at the moment the minimum is $1.
