My original file is SBV type of file. But when I translate it and download it I do not get that type of file, but text document file.

What is your operating system? It’s quite possible that the downloaded file is still a valid SBV file but the OS is not showing it with the correct icon/type. If this file doesn’t work in your video player either, please let me know.

You are a great person, please could you do your service in the edge browser of Microsoft?

This should work in the latest version of the Edge browser too. I just did a quick testing and everything seems to be working as expected. If you run into any particular issue with the Edge browser, please let me know.

The translation quality is not great?

Well, it’s a machine translation, so quality is not going to be always great. However, the quality aslo varies between different translators and the language pairs. You can try other available translators to see if some of these works better for you?

Is your browser or system language not set to English (or by any chance it’s Arabic)? A few other users have also reported it so far, but as I’m not able to reproduce it yet, so I don’t have any direct solution.

BTW, it’s quite possible that language you are looking for is still displayed, but its name is appearing in Arabic. So you can still find and select it to perform the tranlsation.

Many thanks for your wonderful job. But, today, the English language dissapeared from the Select Language menu. Do you know what happened?

There was a temporary glitch that caused it. I think if you just clear your browser cache, or open this website in the incognito mode, it should do the trick and you will see the English language option again.

How can I change the coding? I need to have ANSI

    | Reply

Hi, this is not yet supported directly on my website, but there are many other download tools that can do this for you. Or you can also do this using some editors like Notepad++. So first download the translated subtitle file in the UTF-8 encoding, and then convert it to ANSI using any other external tools.

Sorry for the trouble. On a quick try, I can’t seem to reproduce this. Did you try with any other browser and/or file format to see if you can isolate what’s causing issue here?

Hello, your page is excellent and it has always helped me for my translations, I would just have to make a suggestion, it would be very good if Latin American Spanish could be incorporated, thank you very much

The translation laguage pairs are provided by Google (or other translator provider companies). I’m just providing a front-end to use their translation API. Once Google (or other translator provider) support translation of Latin American Spanish language, I will try to add it to this list here too.

I had to leave the translation for about 5-10 minutes, and in that time all my corrections disappeared. I almost burst into tears:-)

I was not able to reproduce this issue in some local testing. It’s quite possible that you have some kind of browser extension which reset/expires the page after certain inactivity. However, I can understand that a good solution here would be to have some kind of auto save feature here to avoid these unexpected losses. I will see what I can do here.

    Hellow Sir,
Your work is great. Appreciate if you could arrange something like pop message to be appeared when we try to leave the page. Because I experienced lossing my translate corrections in the middle since I erroneously tapping the back button.

That’s a good suggestion. I will see if I can incorporeate this, or some type of auto saving here.

Just an update. I have incorporated a pop-up warning which is displayed if you try to leave the site without first downloading the subtitle. It only shows the warning if something is actually changed i.e. a translation is performed, or you edit the subtitles, but then don’t save the latest one. So hopefully it’s not that annoying. Let me how it goes.

Great website thanks alot youve made my work super easy with this me and everyone at my work really appriciate your work here.
Just a small request if you could do something so we could change the original .srt cells that would be awesome you know cause sometimes something is mispelled on the original one and that just messes the entire sentence

Hi Sully, thanks for the feedback and I’m glad that you are finding this of help.

Regarding your original subtitle edit suggestion, that’s a good one and I’m sure will be of help to many others. Since incorrectly editing the original subtitles can also mess up your changes if done unintentionally. So I have kept this disabled as default. However, now have added a new toolbar button (with the pencil icon) in the original subtitles cell header. You can click on this button to turn on the original cell editing. I hope it helps.

Hi Admin Akbar there is no words i can say thank you for this wonderful tool. It may not be 100% perfect for now but its really helpful more than anything. I hope with your skills you can make a Automatic Multilingual Video Transcription and Translation A video platform such as VIDIZMO that not only streams, stores, manages, and distributes your videos but also allows you to transcribe all your videos, translate them in the required languages in a multilingual application, and enable video search in the viewer’s preferred language – all in a highly integrated and comprehensive platform. I am a vlogger thats why i tried to rent a transcription tool like VEED.io but they end up refunding me because the translation is no where to understand. If you can make that I am willing to rent also. Its a tool that you upload the video and it does create a subtitle of the video and then from there you can have the option to translate them like from Thai to English language. In my case I need Thai language to english and I am willing to make business with you if given the chance

Hi Eugene, thanks a lot for your detailed feedback. To be honest, creating a good multi-lingual video transcription tool is a pretty big and challenging task. Which I’m not sure that I will be able to get enough free time to work on – at least in the near future.

So I guess for the time being, you can still rely on these existing transcription tools like you mentioned above. If you don’t like their translation quality, I guess you can hopefully generate the source subtitles using these tools to SRT file, and then try to translate these using translators provided on my site. I know it’s not as tightly integrated solution as you are looking for, but at least this can provide some thing to start with.

If you are using the free translators (Google, Yandex, etc) the translated files are not saved. So, unfortunately, your work may have been lost.

This is really great, thank you! Just allow me please a bit of feedback on something that makes me lose a bunch of time, if you don’t mind. It is the Google pop up that tells you the original text. It is really cumbersome, and it is not needed, as the original text is shown in the original text column. But each time I need to edit the translation text, it makes me lose a bunch of time trying to avoid it, because it gets in the way covering the translation that I need to edit, and when I need to highlight to copy the translation text, I end up highlighting the text in the Google pop up instead. Is there any way to possibly take that pop up out? : ) Thank you again for this awesome tool.

Thanks for the feedback Diva. I think I understand your problem, and I will see if there is some better fix for this. In the meantime, I do have a workaround suggestion for you. Once the translation is complete, you should first download the translated file using the “Inprogress” button at the top right of the page. This will then download the subtitle file in a special format which is designed to resume in-progress editing on my website. After that, you should just re-upload that “in-progress” file similar to the normal subtitle filee, and you will not see those Google original text popups. I hope it helps.

      Akbar
